Ropes

backback

The rope is the crucial connection between the user and the anchor point. Conventionally laid ropes are still used for some types of work. SKYLOTEC, however, is satisfied with nothing less than core-sheathed rope for the development of new products.

The third rope generation using PARALOC technology and developed for high-load situations has now been launched. New fields of application are constantly opening up for these PARALOC ropes.

Core-sheathed ropes

  • load-bearing core with braided or twisted structure
  • protective jacket
  • no kinking when twisted
  • good knotability
  • with low stretch values as static ropes (EN 1891)
  • with high stretch values as dynamic ropes (EN 892) to absorb arresting force

PARALOC ropes

There is a constantly growing family of ropes engineered by our cooperation partner mamutec behind the brand name PARALOC, and it is their unique, patented production process and their outstanding features which really put these ropes in a class of their own. SKYLOTEC has the exclusive distribution rights across Europe for these innovative, high-tech ropes.

The sheathing and core of Paraloc ropes are crafted using a parallel braiding process, thereby interlocking them. Some 10% of the fibres are neither core nor sheath, but "intermediate fibres" which hold the other fibres together. This makes rope characteristics such as sheath slippage a thing of the past. Additionally, the rope exhibits great edge strength and is very resistant.

Machine-laid ropes

  • 3 or 4 strands are laid (twisted) around the core
  • outer strands bear the load
  • inner core without load-bearing function (is cut off when splicing or is also spliced)
